Meet the Team: Q&A with Rauri Maguire, Technical Sales Director

We’re delighted to welcome Rauri Maguire to the Elecsys Technologies team as Technical Sales Director. With a background spanning high-voltage operations, renewable energy and safety management, Rauri brings deep technical expertise and a strong operational mindset to the role.

We sat down with him to discuss his career, what excites him about joining Elecsys, and how he sees digital innovation continuing to shape the future of safety and compliance across the energy sector.

Can you tell us a bit about your career journey and experience?

“I started my career as an industrial electrician, where I built a strong technical foundation and a hands-on understanding of electrical systems. From there, I moved into the transmission and distribution energy sector with Northern Ireland Electricity - this was a pivotal step in my development. They provided me with an in-depth understanding of how to manage and maintain high-voltage networks safely and effectively, and this experience really shaped my approach to safety and operational excellence.

After that, I transitioned into the renewable energy industry, where I’ve spent the last ten years. During this time, I’ve honed my expertise as both a high-voltage engineering specialist and a safety professional. Working in renewables has allowed me to combine my technical skills with my passion for sustainable energy, helping to drive projects that are not only innovative but also built on a foundation of safety, reliability, and efficiency.”


What excites you most about stepping into the role of Technical Sales Director here at Elecsys?

“What really excites me about this role is the opportunity to take my hands-on technical experience from my operational days and apply it in the software space. Having spent years working directly in the field, I’ve built a deep understanding of the practical challenges that teams face on the ground." 

"I’ve also developed strong relationships with a wide client base across the industry - people I’ve supported operationally over the years and whose problems I genuinely understand."

"Now, being able to apply that technical knowledge to software solutions feels like a natural next step. It allows me to identify where the real gaps are and to help our clients manage their safe systems of work in a way that’s not only safer but also more efficient and compliant. For me, the key is enabling high levels of safety, governance and compliance without creating unnecessary barriers for operations - helping teams deliver what they need to on a daily basis while staying protected and productive.”

What does your role involve and how will it support Elecsys’ growth?

“In my role as Technical Sales Director, I act as the bridge between our technical capabilities and our clients’ operational needs. My focus is on understanding the challenges our customers face day-to-day - particularly around safety, compliance, and high-voltage operations - and translating those into practical software solutions that genuinely make their work safer and more efficient."

"A big part of my role is about listening to our clients and ensuring that their voice shapes how we develop and deliver our products." 

"I can identify where the gaps are and help tailor our technology to solve real-world problems. That not only strengthens client trust but also helps position Elecsys as a partner in innovation, not just a provider.

From a growth perspective, I see this role as central to driving alignment between our technical teams, sales strategy, and customer outcomes. By ensuring our software continues to deliver measurable safety and efficiency benefits, we can expand our footprint in the renewables and high-voltage sectors, deepen client relationships, and open new opportunities in emerging energy markets.

Ultimately, my goal is to help Elecsys grow by linking deep industry insight with smart, scalable solutions - ensuring we continue to lead in both safety and digital innovation.”
